12/17/09 (Dawson County, GA) Keep Dawson County Beautiful, partnering with Home Depot, encourages everyone to “go green” by recycling your Christmas tree.
Bring One for the Chipper, the state’s annual Christmas tree recycling program, invites all Dawson residents to bring their Christmas trees to the Dawsonville Home Depot drop-off site on Saturday, January 9, 2010 between 10 am – 2 pm. No trees after 2 pm, please.
Residents may also drop off trees at the Dawson County Transfer Station and Recycling Center located at 946 Burt Creek Road the week of January 2 - 9 during regular business hours.
“The program successfully transforms Chipper trees into mulch for playgrounds, public beautification projects, wildlife habitat and homeowner landscaping projects,” said Keep Dawson County Beautiful Executive Director Cathy Brooks. “Since 1991 Bring One for the Chipper has collected over five million trees,” she said.
“This year Dawson County residents may pick up free Christmas tree mulch for their own projects from the transfer station beginning Tuesday, January 12 while supply lasts,” said Brooks.
Please remove all decorations before bringing your tree to either location.
