01/21/10 (Dawson County, GA) Keep Dawson County Beautiful welcomes new officers installed to the board of directors at the January meeting.
Karen Armstrong, chairman; Michele Hester, vice chairman; and Brooke Anderson, secretary/treasurer were elected unanimously at the November KDCB annual meeting. Each officer will serve a one-year term and may be elected for a second term.
“This is an excellent slate of officers,” said KDCB Executive Director Cathy Brooks. “I look forward to working with them and look ahead to new ideas and exciting projects in 2010.”
Brooks also thanked outgoing officers Chairman Jane Berg, Vice Chairman Clark Beusse, and Treasurer Kara Hewatt. All three continue as board members. Newly elected Chairman Armstrong previously served as secretary.
Keep Dawson County Beautiful focuses on bringing meaningful change to our environment through quality of life services including litter prevention, solid waste planning and coordination, environmental education, beautification and conservation.
KDCB encourages everyone to get involved. “We are now accepting applications for 2010 corporate and individual memberships,” said Brooks. “Each membership opportunity provides the member with unique and fulfilling opportunities to serve the community and improve the quality of life of the citizens and businesses in Dawson County,” she said.
