Kevin Tanner serves as the Dawson County Manager. The Dawson County native's career with the County began in 1989. Prior to his current role, he served the Dawson County Sheriff's Office for nearly twenty years managing the department for the past 11 years.
Mr. Tanner received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Georgia College and State University and earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbus State University.
As county manager, Mr. Tanner serves as chief operations officer reporting to the Board of Commissioners. His responsibilities include managing nine administrative departments, implementing management standards and operating procedures, and coordinating departmental activities to support goals and initiatives set by the Board of Commissioners.
