Tree Preservation Committee

The Tree Preservation Committee is an advisory board which was created when the Dawson County Buffer, Landscape and Tree Ordinance was enacted. It consists of five members who are appointed by the Dawson County Board of Commissioners and three advisors appointed by the chairman of the Board of Commissioners. Each member has either first hand experience in an arbor related field or a passion and concern for trees. Advisors are experts in the field of arboriculture. The Tree Preservation Committee meets quarterly to discuss issues related to the implementation and enforcement of the Tree Ordinance. The committee also recommends changes as needed to the ordinance to the County Commissioners and sets in as advocates for Dawson County’s Treescape when issues arise before Board of Commissioners.

The Tree Preservation Committee meets 3rd quarter Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the AG Building.
