Job Title:  Transfer Station Operator I
Department: Dawson County Public Works
Location:  Dawsonville, GA  30534
Salary:  $14.09 Hour
Status: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
This position assists with the construction and maintenance of the county Solid Waste Program.  Primary duties include operating mowers, utilizing small equipment and hand tools to maintain the Transfer Station and Landfill grounds; and other related duties as assigned.  Successful performance helps ensure safe and serviceable Solid Waste Program.

Job Requirements:
Application must be 18 years of age or older. Skilled in operating and general maintenance of chainsaws and other light equipment. Ability to operate a mini excavator and loader. Applicant must have possession of or the ability to readily obtain a driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and the applicant must have the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. The applicant must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.
