Job Summary:

This position is responsible for operating a 10-passenger transit bus/van with wheelchair lift to transport Dawson County citizens of all ages and abilities to and from various locations throughout the county.  The position also requires collecting fare money as well as maintaining and preparing monthly transportation reports for Transit Coordinator as needed. 

Job Requirements:

Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.  Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver license for the operation of the required vehicle and a satisfactory driver’s history.  Applicant must pass GDOT PASS training.  A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, plus two years of transportation experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully understand and perform the essential duties of the job.  The applicant must have the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations, to count money and make accurate change.  Applicant must be able to lift up to 25-lbs on a daily basis and occasionally heavier items.  Applicant must provide good customer service and have the ability to interact with people of all ages and abilities. Individual must be a citizen of the United States or qualified to work in the United States, have no felony convictions, and pass a background check and a drug screening.
